A self-initiated project looking at how memory is triggered by place.
I was interested how various monuments that are designed with a given meaning but become something else by personal events taking place there. These events are easily forgotten and the memories can be triggered by being back in the location where they happened. The project was inspired by a trip to oxford with a friend and him re-living his experiences by walking past various personal landmarks.
I was interested in how architecture can trigger a personal history. The piece is constructed from various pieces o architecture I have molded in my own mind. Each piece building is very personal to me and has memories attached to it. Seeing these pieces can bring back piercing memories.
