To design a stall for the V&A village Fete 08.

Take a traditional element of the quintessential English fete and subvert it. Flower arranging in itself is such a strange phenomenon. As part of a team at Wolff Olins we wanted to take it and make it deranged. We wanted to create an anarchic rebellion against flower arranging in which people could smash up arrangements made from kitsch fake flowers.

The aesthetic was WI meets street culture. We used stencils made from flowers and then spray-painted a gazebo. Next we constructed gaudy flower arrangements and added equally tasteless accessories. There was something immensely satisfying and smashing up china vases particularly at the V&A!
